Finitive today announced the closing of a new ~$55 million financing for the latest portfolio of patent litigation cases, bringing the total amount funded under the program to $300+ million. The financing was provided by a large institutional investor.

Finitive’s patent litigation funding program meets a large unmet need among patent owners and law firms for sophisticated funding solutions.

“Law firms are increasingly drawn to Finitive’s patent litigation funding program because of its efficient case due diligence and negotiation process, the prefunding into escrow of all budgeted legal fees and expenses related to each case, and timely payment of monthly legal fees via an independent trustee” said Jon Barlow, founder and CEO of Finitive. “This financing is another example of how Finitive is making what has often been a protracted and lengthy process fast, transparent and easy.”

The program was specifically designed to address the need for significantly improved patent litigation funding solutions among premier IP law firms and their clients. Both filed and yet-to-be filed cases are eligible for the program.
